Breast Cancer Awareness Flowers

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to the month’s official designation, October is also National Mammography Month, Pinktober and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Canada.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. In 2018, there were about 252,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the United States and over 40,000 deaths. Breast cancer is not just a disease that affects women, but also men. Men can develop breast cancer as well. The American Cancer Society estimates that 2% of all cancers diagnosed in men are breast cancers (about 2,500 cases each year) Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. The disease can also spread to other parts of the body.

  • Zinnia makes for a colorful addition to any bouquet!

Breast Cancer Awareness Plants

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and you can show your support by planting a tree or plant. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the air we breathe, which helps to cleanse our environment of harmful toxins. The American Cancer Society recommends planting trees in your neighborhood, as well as finding ways to reduce pollution from cars at home by using less electricity, driving less or switching to public transportation instead of driving alone.

If you want something smaller than an entire tree but still meaningful for this cause–and if you are willing to spend some money–you might consider buying some flowers from local florists who donate all proceeds from sales during this time frame toward breast cancer research funds (and maybe even, get yourself something pretty).

There are many ways to raise money for breast cancer research, such as hosting a bake sale or selling items that you make at home. If you are not sure where to start, look into local organizations like the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society for ideas on how to help out If you are looking for a way to give back during the month of October, consider making donations to breast cancer research. This is one of the most common ways people around the world help fight this disease. You can donate money or items such as clothing or household goods to organizations like Susan G. Komen Foundation or local cancer centers that help survivors and those who are currently fighting cancer.

If you are looking to make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer, consider volunteering at local organizations that sponsor events and help with fundraising efforts. You could also donate items such as clothing or household goods to these groups so that they can sell them at their events or donate money directly through their websites. If you’re looking for a way to give back during the month of October, consider making donations to breast cancer research.

History of Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and the second leading cause of death from cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, there are more than 2 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today.

In 1985, Evelyn Honea was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 34; she died just three years later. Her husband, James Honea Sr., wanted to honor her memory by creating something positive from his wife’s diagnosis and subsequent death from this disease that affects so many women around the world every year–he chose flowers! His idea was simple: give pink roses (Evelyn’s favorite) to those who have been affected by breast cancer or who are survivors themselves during October–Breast Cancer Awareness Month–and raise money for research toward finding better treatments for this devastating disease.

The first year, James gave out 100 pink roses to women in the hospital. Within a few months, word had spread about his gesture, and he was receiving requests from other hospitals as well. Today, James gives away more than 16,000 roses each October through direct donations from his personal bank account and fundraisers organized by volunteers all over the country James Honea Sr.’s story is a very powerful one because it illustrates the importance of having a positive outlook during times of adversity. He was able to turn his wife’s diagnosis into something that could help others, and by doing so he chose to honor her memory instead of letting it bring him down and make him feel helpless.

James’ story is also inspiring because it shows how one person can make a difference in the world. He decided to do something about breast cancer and has been able to help many people by doing so.

Purple hydrangea are a beautiful and popular flower. They are known for their large, round heads of blooms that range in color from light pink to deep purple. They’re great for filling out bouquets, but they also look stunning on their own.

Garden roses are a unique type of flower that originated in Europe. They stand out from other flowers because they come in a wide variety of colors, including red, pink, purple, yellow and orange. These colors are often found on the same plant. Garden roses are used to make floral arrangements because they have a beautiful smell and unique color patterns. They can be used as center pieces or to decorate the outside of your home for the holidays.
