For this holiday season, including Black Friday, we invite you to shop with Mayfield Florist for the best value in flowers and gifts

Mayfield Florist Retailers are working hard and fast to be ready for this coming high volume shopping day, Black Friday. We have all seen the past two years have been challenging to say the least. Good news is that positive predictions are that 2021 should be improved in terms of in store sales. Even though studies have shown vaccines have lowered risks, safety precautions remain smartly warranted as we venture out to stores. Mayfield Florist offers amazing and competitively priced floral products that would be sensational as a thoughtful holiday gift. We also offer the convenience and safety of shopping online for those who want to stay home as opposed to going out to crowded stores. Black Friday has an unusual and interesting history of origination. From initially being called Black Friday because people called in sick the day after Thanksgiving, to the police in some major cities referring to the day as Black Friday because of the crowds and traffic to today being commonly referred to as the best holiday shopping day. In addition to being the best shopping day of the season, Black Friday is also known as the beginning of USA Christmas shopping season. Last year, when Covid was peaking, many people opted for online purchasing so they could safely shop from home. That has been a growing trend for several years and now has become even more popular. However, for those that want to get out and visit stores in person, the opportunities will be there. Following Black Friday, there are a couple of additional special shopping opportunities: Small Business Saturday occurs between November 24th and November 30th. This day falls in as one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed in the United States on November 27, 2010, Small Business Saturday is within the same theme as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These are days when shopping at retailers and e-commerce stores is at its height of the season. Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to visit local businesses to make purchases. Obviously a great financial focus for communities and the entrepreneurs that live and work there. American Express is a major supporter of Small Business Saturday and promoted the holiday on 2010 on radio, television and Facebook. Mayfield Florist is committed to our local neighbors and we take extreme pleasure in supporting our community. We would be honored to have you visit us. Our products are top notch and our talented floral designers are among the best in the industry.  Not only are our flowers beautiful but we also have delectable treats! Cyber Monday, which is sometimes referred to as "Blue Monday", was created as a special day to encourage consumers to do online shopping. This is a perfect theme now when many people would much prefer to stay in their home and shop from their computer where they are away from crowds. This day falls on the first Monday following Thanksgiving.  The term Cyber Monday originated in 2005 by a member of [...]

Mayfield Florist has the perfect flower arrangements and gifts to make your home very festive this Thanksgiving

Mayfield Florist Thanksgiving, one of the favorites among holidays will be here in two weeks. We would be honored to have you shop with Mayfield Florist and let us help you create a festive holiday atmosphere in your home with our elegant flowers and gifts. Our world class floral designers have produced some of the most elegant holiday spirited floral products you will find. The concept of Thanksgiving originated in 1621. As we have learned from our history studies, it was a bitterly cold winter after the Pilgrims first landed in America. They were able to survive by the generosity of the Native Americans that shared food with them. To repay their new friends, the Pilgrims held a three-day feast. The bounty they shared included dried fruits, boiled pumpkin, turkey, venison and other foods. A slightly different menu from what we are accustomed to but no doubt a delightful feast at that time. Over the many years the theme of a celebration of harvest has continued to be honored. Today we think of Thanksgiving as a time to give thanks for our foundation of this great Nation. Of course, it is also the official start of the holiday season and a special time of fellowship with family and friends. After receiving encouragement from some people, President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a nationwide holiday in 1863. As many people will be traveling and or hosting the Thanksgiving Day meal, there are guidelines to contemplate according to the CDC.  Some of their modified guidelines from last year are: Protect those not yet eligible for vaccination such as young children by getting yourself and other eligible people around them vaccinated. Wear well-fitting masks over your nose and mouth if you are in public indoor settings if you are not fully vaccinated. Even those who are fully vaccinated should wear a mask in public indoor settings in communities with substantial to high transmission. Avoid crowded, poorly ventilated spaces. If you are sick or have symptoms, do not host or attend a gathering. Get tested if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have a close contact with someone who has COVID-19. If you are considering traveling for a holiday or event, visit CDC’s travel page to help you decide what is best for you and your family. CDC still recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated and must travel, follow CDC’s domestic traveler or international travel recommendations for unvaccinated people. If you will be traveling in a group or family with unvaccinated people, choose safer travel options. Everyone, even people who are fully vaccinated, is required to wear a mask on public transportation and follow international travel recommendations".
